Like other department of Arts stream, The Department of History started its journey with the establishment of the College in the year 1950. The department started its Higher Secondary and Degree Pass course subjects from the starting. . From starting to till date, the department is running with 3 nos of faculty members.

Departmental Activity
The Department of History, S. S. College, Hailakandi has published 1 research paper during past few years. Besides this department subscribe one journal namely ‘Samajik Chintan’. The Department Organises 2 UGC Sponsored National Seminar during the last 2 -3 Years. The department is also offering Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality, a UGC sponsored Career Oriented Course.
